Mission
I recently read Jamey Stegmaier’s book. It’s a must read for anyone trying to get into the crowd funding space, especially crowd funding board games. There is a lot to digest with his lessons and philosophy, and I am sure that I will talk more about it down the road. But, there is one resounding idea has been echoing in the back of my head since I put the book down.
Jamey’s company Stonemaier Games stands for something. The company is an expression of Jamey’s passion not only for board games, but for the community that surrounds them, and the creators who make them.
I spent the past week really trying to define a vision for Pine Island Games - what we want it to be and accomplish. We weren’t starting from scratch, Chelsea and I both had our own visions and thoughts on what is most important. But we formalized those conversations into a mission.
It is our actions and our products that will define our company, but our mission will guide those choices.
Mission.
We strive to create memorable, fun, and beautiful games. We aim to create value for our customers, fans, and the broader board gaming and game design communities. We value personally connecting with, and being helpful to our peers and supporters. We believe that games are meant to bring people together, and that the board gaming hobby and industry will be healthier and more fun through increased equity and inclusivity.
